The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar issues approval letters to travelers who wish to apply for a visa to enter Myanmar, and this application is processed manually in Naypyidaw, the new capital of Myanmar. However, to promote the tourism industry, the Ministry of Hotels and Tourism has made a special arrangement with Ministry of Foreign Affairs to allow the approval letter to be applied online. Once approved, applicants will receive their approval letter by email, which is recognized by all airlines traveling inbound to Myanmar and provided that all your travel documents are in order, you should have no trouble boarding your flight to Myanmar. The Myanmar visa process was a relatively simple process and I received the necessary paperwork ready for my arrival. On the day, I arrived expecting to be met by someone in the terminal near the visa desk, but no one was around. Eventually I spotted a young man standing with a handwritten name on it on the other side of the glass (after immigration). He was telling me with sign language that I didn't need to pay anything. That said, I had to stand in line along with everyone else for about 30 mins to finally get to the counter when they found my paperwork, took my passport and told me to wait. I was given my visa and went through, I then paid another USD75 to the young man when I finally cleared immigration and he gave me an official receipt. All up a relatively easy process and much easier than trying to get it through the Embassy. Thanks - Charles Hellawell, Australia
I had an amazing experience with the Evisa Asia team. My trip to Myanmar was a bit last minute, so I was worried that I wouldn't be able to go because I didn't have time to get a visa beforehand. I sent in my application to Evisa Asia, including a photocopy of my passport and photo online, which was very easy and straightforward to use. They sent me the forms about a week later. I was met by a friendly and helpful representative in the airport in Myanmar, who took care of processing my visa. I had been so worried that something was going to go wrong and keep me from getting into Myanmar, but the Evisa Asia team made sure everything ran smoothly. All in all, I had a fabulous experience using Evisa Asia and I highly recommend their services to others. Thanks so much for helping to make my trip a success! - Naomi Andrews, Canada
